VASCULAR VX™ - Support for Vascular Health

Vascular health is associated with healthy endothelium, the lining which compose the arteries and maintains blood flow. When healthy blood flow is maintained, tissues and organs of the body receive oxygenated blood with anti-aging nutrients.

Important factors of healthy blood flow:

  • Vascular Endothelium - . Aging causes dysfunction (including inflammation) of the lining of the arteries (the endothelium). As a result arteries become stiffened and less functional.
    • Aronia berry - Inhibits inflammatory TNF- α induced inflammation of the arterial lining., including suppression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1. These effects are  anti-atherosclerotic, and help maintain younger arterial function.(1)  Further, administration of aronia berry was shown acute improvement of flow-mediated dilation (FMD), arterial stiffness, blood pressure and  heart rate in male subjects.(2)
    • Apigenin - Restores arterial function in aging by mitigating endothelial stiffening, inflammation and oxidative stress.(3)
    • Saffron - Induces endothelium relaxation via two mechanisms: Via nitric oxide synthesis and effect on vascular smooth muscle,(4) Also saffron inhibits vascular inflammation.(5)
    • Cynara scolymus (Artichoke) - Regulates nitric oxide synthase in support of endothelium relaxation.(6) A study of heart disease in Spain demonstrated an association of decreased mortality due to cardiovascular diseases and cynara scolymus consumption.(7)
